Kengrey Drive House Fire
Monday, April 21st at 3:46 p.m. Engine 148 and Engine 248 was dispatched to Kengrey Drive for a house fire. Crews assisted with extinguishment of hot-spots and helped with the overhaul. Engine 148 and Engine 248 was placed available at 4:51 p.m.
Auto Accident Blue Rock Road
Friday, April 18th at 10:51 p.m. Engine 148 was dispatched to Blue Rock Road for a single vehicle auto accident. Crews assisted the state police and waited for the tow truck. Engine 148 was placed available at 12:04 a.m.
Laurel Run Road Mountain Fire
Wednesday, April 16th at 5:27 p.m. UTV 48 was dispatched to Laurel Run Road for a Mountain Fire. Upon arrival crews found a fully involved skidder, that had caught some trees around it on fire. UTV 48 was used for water supply and Brush 4 (Landisburg) attacked the fire with Class A foam. UTV 48 was released from the scene at 7:47 p.m.
On April 12th the Upper Frankford Fire Company held their annual Chicken BBQ. There were 350 halves sold. Thank you for those who came out and supported us, and those who volunteered their time to help with the BBQ.
Brick Church Road Auto Accident
Friday, April 11th at 11:11 p.m. Engine 148 was dispatched to Brick Church Road and Bridge Road for a single vehicle auto accident. When crews arrived on the scene they checked for hazards and snipped the battery cables. Engine 148 was placed available at 11:41 p.m.
Mountain Fire in Cook Township
Wednesday, April 9th at 4:58 p.m. Brush 48 and UTV 48 was dispatched to Cook Township for a mountain fire. Crews assisted with extinguishment of the fire and was placed available at 7:50 p.m.
House Fire on Potato Road
Monday, March 31st at 5:29 a.m. Engine 248 was dispatched to Potato Road for a house fire. When crews arrived the house was already engulfed in flames. Firefighters extinguished the house fire, as well as a van that had caught on fire. Crews used CAFS (compressed air foam system) from Engine 239 to help extinguish the fire. Once the fire was out crews did overhaul and Engine 248 was placed available at 8:11 a.m.
Rural Water Movement Class
Saturday March 22nd and Sunday March 23rd, Company 48 held a Rural Water Movement class that was open to stations to attend. The class went over tanker shuttles, fill site operations, inline relay, and dump site operations.
Large Hay Bale Fire on Old Mill Road
Saturday, March 22nd at 4:53 p.m. Engine 148 and Engine 248 was dispatched to Old Mill Road for a large pile of hay bales that were on fire. Other companies that were dispatched were Company 46 West Pennsboro, and Company 47 Newville. When Engine 248 arrived there were approximately 100 large square hay bales on fire and fire was spreading into the field. Engine 248 arrived first and deployed a blitz fire to knock the exposed fire on the outside of the pile. Engine 148 laid 5" back the lane and pumped the water back to Engine 248. A fill station was set up down the road by 46 for water transport. Both Engines pumped for about 7 hours each and personal remained on scene until they were put available at 1:05 a.m.
Mountain Fire in Middlesex Township
Friday, March 21st at 4:52 p.m. Utility 48 and UTV 48 was dispatched to a mountain fire in Middlesex Township. Crews were placed available at 6:37 p.m.
