LANDING ZONE AT STATION 48

6/29/09 - Dispatched at 5:33 am for Landing Zone Operations at our station for an accident victim.  Engine 148 provided standby at the L.Z. area, while Company 48 personnel assisted with patient transfer.  Cleared scene at 6:05 am.

HOUSE FIRE IN WEST PENNSBORO

6/12/09 - Dispatched at 11:40 am to a House  Fire at 34 W. Main Street in Plainfield, West Pennsboro Township.  Responding units upon arrival, found fully involved structure with smoke showing from all sides. 

UFFC responded with Engine 248 and provided manpower for extinguishment and mop-up.

COMMUNITY DAY IN WEST PENNSBORO

6/6/09 - West Pennsboro Township held its 1st Community Day at the West Pennsboro Fire Company and Township Park.  UFFC participated in the event along with Companies 40, 46 & 47.  It was a great turnout by the community, with lots of area vendors on hand, free door prizes, and consession stand provided by West Pennsboro Fire Co.  Activities for the day included vehicle rescue demo, smoke trailer, fire extinguisher demo, horse rides, dancing dogs, child ID's, hands-on handline fun, water rescue display, fire prevention handouts, and "Smokey the Bear" and "Red Robin" made special appearances through out the day.  Thanks to West Pennsboro Township for the planning of a very enjoyable day!

 MEMORIAL DAY PARADE

5/25/09 - UFFC participated in the Newville Memorial Day Parade with our Engine 148, Engine 248, and new Utility 48.  It was such a beautiful day to honor our men and women who currently serve or have served in the Armed Forces.   Our special THANKS go out to all of them.

VEHICLE OVERTURNED IN UPPER FRANKFORD

5/16/09 - Distpatched at 1612 hrs for an Auto Accident with vehicle overturned at 355 Mohawk Road in Upper Frankford Township.  Engine 148 and QRS 48 arrived on the scene to find a Trailblazer on its roof and down an embankment.   Driver was out of the vehicle on her own and transported by Ambulance Co. 47.  Was assisted on the scene  by Rescue 47 and PA State Police.   Cleared scene at 1700 hrs.

NEW UTILITY TRUCK GOES TO FIRE EXPO

5/15/09 - Company's new Utility Truck made an appearance May 15th - 17th at the Fire Expo in Harrisburg and shown at the KME booth.

FARM EQUIPMENT FIRE IN WEST PENNSBORO

5/13/09 - Dispatched at 2242 hrs to West Pennsboro Township, 19 Goodyear Road on 46-03 Box for a tractor fire.  Chief 47 arrived on the scene and reported a well involved combine on fire.  Engine 248 and Brush 48 arrived and provided manpower assistance to companies 46 & 47.

5/13/09 - Contributing editor Tom Shand for "Firehouse Magazine" and "Fire Apparatus Journal" stopped by in our neck of the woods to take some photos and obtain information in reference to our company operations.

NEW "UTILITY 48" ARRIVES AT UFFC

4/28/09 - The new 2009 Ford F-250 Super-Duty Crew Cab truck was picked up at KME and arrived at it's new home of Station 48.  Very nice job guys!

 

  

 

 

CAR FIRE IGNITES MOUNTAIN FIRE IN NORTH MIDDLETON

4/27/09 - Dispatched at 1639 hrs to 39-01 Box to assist with a Mountain Fire along Route 74 in the area of Wagners Gap in North Middleton Township.  Brush 48 manpower assisted with fire suppression and Engine 248 supplied water to Company 39.  Cleared scene at 1833 hrs.

AUTO ACCIDENT IN LOWER MIFFLIN

4/27/09 - Dispatched at 0811 hrs to 447-01 Box for an auto accident at the intersection of Route 997 and Meadows Road in Lower Mifflin Township.  E148 and QRS 48 assisted with debris clean-up on the roadway.  Cleared scene at 0859 hrs.

 HOUSE FIRE IN LOWER MIFFLIN

4/24/09 - Dispatched at 1052 hrs to 447-01 Box for a reported electrical fire at 825 Doubling Gap Road in Lower Mifflin Township.  E247 arrived on the scene with smoke showing from the roof.  Engine 248 arrived, provided water supply to E247 and sent manpower inside for assistance with extinguishment and salvage & overhaul.  Fire damage to attic and one bedroom, with water damage to first floor.  Engine 248 deverted from the scene to respond to a crash on the Turnpike.  Cleared house fire at 1240 hrs.  Co.34 transferred to our station for standby.

 UPDATE OF NEW UTILITY 48 at KME

4/14/09 - The 2009 Ford F-250 Super Duty Crew Cab is coming along quite nicely.  Expected delivery will be mid-May.  Plans include to display the new unit at the KME booth at the Harrisburg Fire Expo.

 

     

 

 

UPDATE OF NEW UTILITY 48 - 03/27/09

Members visited KME to see the progress of new Utility 48.  The 2009 Ford F-250 Super-Duty Crew Cab has been delivered to KME and painted to match other company apparatus colors.  Additional updated photos of Utility  48 will follow as progress occurs.  

 

 

 

 

 

AUTO ACCIDENT IN LOWER FRANKFORD 03/26/09

Dispatched at 1353 Hrs. for Auto Accident in Lower Frankford Twp. in area of 72 Pinedale Road.  Engine 148 arrived, found truck had rolled-over.  Co.48 personnel assessed driver walking along vehicle.  Ambulance Co.40 and Police assisted on scene.  Cleared scene at 1433 Hrs.

FIELD FIRE IN LOWER MIFFLIN 03/04/09

Dispatched at 1127 Hrs for Field Fire at 448 Shed Road.  Brush 48 and Engine 248 responded.  Upon arrival, three acres of field burning with exposure to house.  Brush 48 assisted Co.47 with fire suppression.  Cleared scene at 1234 Hrs.

MOBILE HOME FIRE IN LOWER FRANKFORD 03/03/09

Dispatched at 0851 Hrs for a mobile home fire at 6 John Drive in Lower Frankford Twp.  E248 was first on scene and piped half a tank of water on trailer and pulled handlines for extinguishment and mop-up.  Company 48 available at 1038 Hrs.

BARN FIRE AT 101 MEADOWS RD 02/24/09

Dispatched at 0734 Hrs for a barn fire in Lower Mifflin Twp.   Engine 248 initially hauled water but later was used as a supply engine.  Engine 148 set up fill site on 997 using a farmer's pond for water. Company 34 was transfered to our station for standby.  Company 48 was released and available at 1240 hrs.

HOUSE FIRE AT 3 LANCE COURT 02/10/09

Dispatched at 0855 Hrs for a house fire in North Newton Twp. E248 nursed E247.  E148 arrived and sent manpower to the fire scene.  Assisted Co.47 with mop up.  Cleared the scene at 1019 Hrs. Company 34 transferred to our station for standby.

HOUSE FIRE ON 477 MOUNTAIN ROAD 01/28/09

Dispatched at 0959 HRS. for a house fire in Lower Mifflin Twp.   E248 was a supply engine and layed 600' of 5",  E148 established a fill site and filled 16 tankers .   Crew from Engine 248 assisted at fire scene.  Cleared the scene at 1500 HRS.

AUTO ACCIDENT ON LONESOME ROAD 01/12/09

Dispatched at 0804 HRS for auto accident, arrived to find a 2 car head on collision.  Transported 3 patients.  Cleared scene at 0850 HRS.
