Brush Fire on Westfield Lane
Tuesday, March 11th Brush 48 and Engine 248 was dispatched at 1:54 p.m. for a brush fire on Westfield Lane. The fire started as a controlled burn then spread onto grass and a pile of logs. Crews were able to extinguish the fire with no damage to the homeowner's home. Engine 248 and Brush 48 was put available at 2:26 p.m.
North Middleton Township Garage Fire
Monday, March 10th at 2:04 p.m. Engine 248 was dispatched to North Middleton Township to assist and provide manpower for a garage fire. When Engine 248 arrived on scene the crew assisted with extinguishment of hot-spots and helped with the overhaul of the garage. Engine 248 was placed available at 3:31 p.m.
Middle Road Garage Fire
Monday, March 3rd at 10:04 p.m. Engine 248 was dispatched to Middle Road for a Garage Fire. Crews provided manpower and nursed Engine 247. Engine 248 was placed available at 11:30 p.m.
Bloserville Road Chimney Fire
Wednesday, February 26th at 9:16 p.m. Engine 148 and Engine 248 was dispatched for a chimney fire on Bloserville Road. At arrival 48's crew cleared the chimney and checked for extension. Engine 148 and Engine 248 was put available at 9:56 p.m.
Meat Raffle 3.7.14
The next Meat Raffle is Friday, March 7th at the Upper Frankford Fire Company. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Come out and support your local fire department.
Company 48's Banquet
Saturday, February 22nd the Upper Frankford Fire Company held their banquet at Company 45's banquet hall. Many members and their families attended. There was a meal followed by a guest speaker Tom Moriatiry who spoke about the stress of being a first responder. After that awards where handed out and the slideshow was presented. The following awards were handed out: Top 5 Fire Responders- David (Buck) Jumper, Duane Ruth, Bill Stum, Timber Miller, and Logan Jones. Top 5 EMS Resonders- David (Buck) Jumper, Duane Ruth, Timber Miller, Bill Stum, and Logan Jones. Top 5 in Training hours- Matt Jones, Logan Jones, Timber Miller, Dan Lehman, and Rick Shoemaker. Firefighter of the year was awarded to Timber Miller. The President's Award was awarded to John Barrick, and the Fire Chief's Award was awarded to Matthew Helm. Dan Lehman also received a leather helmet for all of his hard work throughout the year. Thanks to everyone for their support and involvement in the volunteer fire service. Let's look forward to another great year!
Tuesday, February 18th at 5:30 p.m. Engine 148 and Engine 248 were dispatched for smoke in a mobile home in Mountain View Terrace. Company 48 arrived within a minute confirming smoke from the double wide. Engine 248's crew of 3 found food on the stove with extension to the wall and overhead cupboards. Engine 148's crew handled ventilation and Engine 247's crew assisted with overhaul and ventilation. Crews were available at 6:35 p.m.
Crew of 4 Catches Another Chimney Fire
Monday, February 10th at 12:49 a.m. Engine 248 was dispatched to McClures Gap Road for a chimney fire. Engine 248's crew of 4 assisted Company 39 with extinguishment of the chimney fire. Engine 248 went available at 2:59 a.m.
Old Mill Road Chimney Fire
Sunday, February 9th at 3:33 p.m. Engine 248 responded for mutual aid on the 246-02 box for a chimney fire on Old Mill Road. Engine 248's crew handled the roof operations while Engine 46's crew checked for extension and handled the interior. The fire was contained to the chimney and both engines were available at 4:05 p.m.
Daytime Crew Catches Another Working Fire
Thursday, January 30th at 10:55 a.m Engine 248 was dispatched to transfer to station 41 while they worked a 3 alarm house fire in Carlisle. Before completing the transfer Engine 248 was dispatched to the scene. Engine 248 of 4 assisted with extinguishment until released from the scene at 1:33 p.m.
